Oerstedella Epidendrums
The Oerstedella species and hybrids are among the most beautiful reedstem type of Epidendrums. All of these should be grown in a greenhouse and other warm and humid environment. The one exception is Oerstedella schweinfurthianum which can tolerate temperatures down to 28 degrees. All of these plants are available in extremely limited quantities.

Oerstedella Costa Rica 'J&L' AM/AOS (schumannianum x pseudowallisii) x self - The 'J&L' clone is pictured above. Beautiful bronze sepals and petals spotted with deep lavender. Lip is lavender with lavender spotting and yellow in the throat. Truly spectacular! The selfing of this clone produced plants with blooms that look nearly identical to the parent. Unlike most Oerstedella's, these are compact in their growth habit and begin blooming when they reach approximately 12 inches in height.We only have a very few of these available. Oerstedella schweinfurthianum 'HBO' x self - Tall growing species with heads of 1" flowers. This species can be grown outside where temperatures are above 28 degrees. Bright orange sepals and petals with a lavender lip. Plants are currently approximately 12 inches in height.

Oerstedella centradenium - Long lasting heads of lavender 3/4" flowers on short growing plants. Winter bloomer. Plants are 6-8 inches tall in 2 1/2" pots. These should begin to bloom on the next growth (NBS) - 18.95 [soldout]

OERSTEDELLA LAVENDER DROP (Oerstedella Phillips Jesup x Oerstedella centradenium) - The hybrid Phillips Jesup is schumannianum x endresii. Crossed with centradenium should produce heads of dark lavender 3/4" flowers on very short growing plants. Pictures of the parents are shown above along with flowers from a plant currently in bloom. OERSTEDELLA DAINTY LADY (Oerstedella schumannianum x Oerstedella centradenium) - Clusters of long lasting lavender flowers on compact growing plants.
